Yr 12 Business Students Driven Venture Smashes School Record

A group of Christchurch Boys' High School students has raised $11,000 for the Waiau Pool rebuild through a charity trail ride held over the weekend.

When given the task of organising a charity fundraising event as part of their business course, the Year 12 students decided to up the ante and raise more money for charity than had previously been done.

Jed Le Pine, Ben Jensen and Lewys Francis, all from North Canterbury, Mason Thacker of Okains Bay and Sam Taylor of Christchurch, said rather than run a bake sale or sausage sizzle, they wanted to think big.

They came up with a trail ride on Jed's parents' property at Nape Nape, deciding to donate the proceeds to the Waiau Pool.
