Congratulations to James Reid selected for the South Island under 21 Polo team
James has been playing polo since he was in Year 7 and has ridden horses all his life. He has a string of 4 of his own polo ponies. He is a member of Port Hills Polo Club and South Island SUPA Polo for school aged players.
James has been in 4 winning teams for the SUPA inter schools Cup – 3 of these played as a CBHS team. He was fortunate enough to represent South Island School Polo in NSW, Australia in 2022. He was travelling reserve for the South Island Under 21 team twice in 2023. James played in a NZ Youth Polo exchange team In Singapore in July 2023- MVP of the tournament.
Other Accolades:
- Invitational player to the Hawkes Bay – January 2024- MVP of the Tournament (adult grades)
- Invitational player to Queensland Polo in April (MVP) and July 2024 (winners of the A grade championship – adult grade competition)
- He is waiting on selection to play for the NZ Schools team against the USA in Christchurch in December 2024.
To top things off, James has now been selected for the South Island under 21 Polo team. He will play in Sydney on the 8/9th of October.
Over and above this, James has been part of the New Zealand Schools Squad for the past two seasons.
