Message from the Headmaster regarding funeral of Lucas Gilfedder

Our thoughts and love remain with the family and friends of Lucas Gilfedder who sadly died on Tuesday night.

The respect for Lucas and concern for one another shown by the boys and staff has been a great tribute to this clever and funny student who is missed deeply by us all.

The funeral for Lucas will be held in the School Hall on Tuesday the 18th of September at 2:15 pm.

We will finish school on Tuesday at 1:05 pm and boys will be able to go home then. Those boys who are staying for the funeral will need to remain in uniform and they will be able to leave their bags in the Small Gym.

We do request that, if possible, boys coming to the funeral are accompanied by a parent or family member. If this is not possible we request that they are picked up by a parent or family member at the conclusion of the funeral service.

There will be counselling staff in the staff room at the funeral’s conclusion who can see boys who need support.

Skylight is an organisation that provide support and literature around grief and I do recommend their website as a source of valuable information .
